Hi! I’m Jed Theriot and welcome to The Tee Traveler!

You might be wondering, “who is this guy and why is he running another golf blog?”.

Well, the short answer is that I love the game of golf. I took up the game in my early thirties while a was serving in the U.S. Navy and was instantly hooked. Like most of us who play the game, I couldn’t wait to get to the range or a course to chase that feeling of hitting a well struck shot. Living in the panhandle area of Florida at the time, there were lots of golf courses to choose from while trying to better my game and I enjoyed playing the variety of challenges that they provided.

While in the Navy, I was fortunate to travel to various parts of the world. Exploring new locations and experiencing different cultures was something I always looked forward to. Whether it was for a few days, or months at a time, travel was always something I looked forward to. And being relatively new to the game, searching for a golf course to play was always on the itinerary!

Now in my 50’s with a family, I still share the same passion for golf and travel as I did years ago. Over a 20-year span, I’ve met lots of great people, bought and sold tons of gear, and traveled thousands of miles. One constant that I’ve learned is that everyone has their likes and dislikes when it comes to both golf and travel. 

Hence, The Tee Traveler.

Am I an expert when it comes to golf? No, I’m a 12 handicap who plays and practices when the responsibilities of life allow. However, I know what I like to experience when visiting a new location or playing a new course. I know what golf gear does and doesn’t work for me and I’m always interested in new products and how they may or may not enhance my game.

I’m here to share my opinions and experiences with hopes that they may resonate with you. Maybe we’ll share the same opinions and maybe we won’t. Either way, that’s ok. We’ll learn from each other regardless.
